Senator Austria was twice unanimously elected by his colleagues to serve in the Senate leadership position of Majority Whip, where he helps decide which bills and what policies are considered.
Throughout the community, Steve is an active member of several advisory boards, statewide associations, local Chambers of Commerce's and the Xenia Rotary Club, where he has made meaningful contributions to people of all ages through many youth and senior programs. Steve coached all three of his sons in basketball, soccer and baseball and has been part of the annual Dr. Clement G. Austria Senior Citizen Christmas Party, which was named after his father who organized the event 30 years ago, before he passed away. Steve has also been a strong advocate for Family Violence Prevention Centers and Victims Advocate groups.
Prior to his service in the Ohio Legislature, Senator Austria was a small businessman and financial advisor. Steve is married to Eileen Austria and they are the parents of three sons; Brian, Kevin, and Eric.
